WHY WORK WITH ME?
After overcoming Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) caused by an accident in my mid-twenties and being able to gain freedom from a multitude of debilitating symptoms including anxiety, exhaustion and, the worst of them all, a constant feeling of spaciness - known as dissociation.
I have gained a deep understanding of how trauma effects our mind, body and spirit and because of this I am committed in helping others to overcome their own symptoms connected to trauma and issues effecting their life.
The most vital insight that I discovered during my own healing is that PTSD is an injury, a physical injury, not a disorder, which means it can be healed, just like a broken bone. The wound though is hidden within the nervous system and brain - reset the nervous system by feeling emotions somatically held within the body along with the beliefs connected to these feelings, and you will begin to heal. This is an instrumental part of the healing process and creates the most lasting and successful changes.
My own accident changed the course of my life and has led me to help others, because I have been there, I know how you feel and because I was once you. I trained in RTT because it’s a therapy I believe in and it works. I researched into many therapies before deciding on RTT, because healing my own trauma has taught me what is needed for successful recovery and I feel RTT enables you to do this.
Unless you have experienced trauma, you can never understand how it feels or effects someone’s life. Trauma is like an invisible injury that no-one can see, you appear perfectly normal to the outside world, but on the inside it’s a very different story.
I know first hand how healing can transform your life and I want to empower others to transform theirs. I combine my personal experiences with my professional qualifications to create the breakthroughs needed for successful healing.
I take a holistic client-centred approach and tailor each session to the clients needs and what will work best for each individual client.
